Barford Pre-school was first established in 1966 and, until 2010, operated in the village’s Memorial Hall. With a caring team of experienced staff it earned its longstanding reputation as one of Warwickshire’s leading pre-schools and became very popular with families, not only within the village but the surrounding area too.
In July 2010 Barford Pre-school said farewell to the Memorial Hall for the last time and in September began their Autumn term in brand new surroundings here at Barford St. Peter’s Primary School. The purpose built facilities in our new Foundation Stage Unit create an opportunity for us to provide a happy and caring environment for Pre-school children on our own site, with the benefits of management and governance by the School. In this wonderful environment, we encourage each child to develop at his or her own rate through play.
ABOUT US: We take children from their third birthday and have 16 places in the morning and 16 places in the afternoon.
Our Pre-School is open Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 3.15 p.m. You can choose morning, afternoon or all day sessions, depending on availability. We are happy to provide a nutritious, home-cooked lunch (there is a small charge for the cost of the food) or children can bring their own packed lunch.
If you would like to book some sessions at our Pre-School please contact Mrs Fox in the main school office. The phone number is 01926 624 244.
Our flexible free entitlement sessions, for which your child’s place is fully funded from the term following their third birthday, are term-time, Monday to Friday:
Morning: 9.00 to 12.00 Afternoon: 12.15 to 3.15 (includes lunchtime)
To qualify for the free entitlement, children must be three on or before 31 August for the autumn term, 31 December for the spring term and 31 March for the summer term. Your child can access the free 15 hours per week either in the morning or afternoon, or a mixture of both. For those opting for afternoon sessions this session includes lunchtime.
We have 2 dedicated members of staff, both of whom are fully qualified with NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education. They work as part of a team within the Foundation Unit with the Lead Teacher and an additional teaching assistant. All members of staff work to rigorous standards and procedures that are used throughout the School, including Ofsted Inspection, Child Protection standards, Health and Safety procedures and regular, relevant training.
